FAME-NTP Africa 2010 results

History was made on 30th January, 2010. The first FAME-NTP Africa drug tested event finally took off in the western Kenya town of Eldoret.

Seven countries took part in the FAME-NTP African natural championship, athletes traveled as far as USA to participate in the first natural bodybuilding championship on the African continent. Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, DRC, Angola and USA all took part.

The guest poser Mr Malachi Smith jetted in on 28th January, 2010. He visited local street kids, hospitals and schools. He also hosted a seminar just after prejudging on 30 January, he was teaching bodybuilders about the dangers of using banned substances.

It all started with the weighing in and registration at 9 am, prejudging followed at 11 am and seminar hosted by Malachi was next at 2.30 pm.

All bodybuilders who made it past prejudging underwent doping tests.

The evening show started at 7pm with Kenyan national anthem and introduction of guests. Entertainers from the Indian community, Uganda and the Eldoret local entertainers entertained the audience.

The heaviest athlete at the championship was no other than Angola's Gonga Aldino Domingos Sambaho a.k.a Bigflex Dogg at 112 Kilograms.

Paul Mwangale once again proved to be the best natural bodybuilder in Africa by winning the natural bodybuilding event organized in Africa. He beat 74 bodybuilders from different countries of Africa and walked away with US$1500 and a trophy.

He overcame a strong competition from Timothy Kasuku, Chris Omedo and Nigeria's Richard Aluko before meeting his main challenger Ivan Byekwaso in the finals. There was a stiff contest between the two East African giants and gave the experienced panel of judges a very hard time.

Paul eventually emerged the overall winner of the first FAME-NTP Africa bodybuilding event and Ivan Byekwaso settled for the second place and went home US$1200 richer.

The top three bodybuilders from each weight categories had a share on the staked US$7400. The overall winner will have chance to represent Africa at one of the FAME events in USA in August 2010.

The FAME-NTP Africa 2010 Championship was a FAME World tour event. All six finalists qualified to contest at the FAME World championships scheduled for November 2010 in Las Vegas USA.
